It’s all about the safety
Playgrounds are exciting and fun places for children. They help build dexterity and they are a great place to make friends. Kids are wonderfully inventive and use playground equipment in many different ways, sometimes not intended by the manufacturers.
Each year in the United States, more than 150,000 children under the age of 14 are treated in hospital emergency rooms for injuries occurring on public playgrounds, according to the Centers for Diseases and Prevention (CDC). There are many ways to prevent these injuries and to lessen the injuries that do occur.

No South Coast wrestling team won Monday’s Bay City Duals, but with younger wrestlers littered throughout the tournament, the event was much more about getting mat time than getting a result.
Marshfield used mostly junior varsity wrestlers and finished second to Central Linn, losing 42-39 in the championship match.
Reedsport finished fourth after falling to Douglas 52-24 in the third-place match. Philomath beat South Umpqua to earn fifth. In the final dual, North Bend lost to Siuslaw 40-30 for the Bulldogs to finish eight.
